Thrasher Chux

Thrashers are you everyday pair of ProChux; you can thrash around with, which is why we call them the “Thrasher” series. Thrasher ProChux are made from Pecan, or Red Oak. Pecan is hard and heavy with a weight of 85 to 105 grams per stick, where Red Oak is a lighter, medium weight, hard wood. Both Pecan and Red Oak are $30.00 US and available for immediate delivery. Ironwood Chux

IRON-WOOD, the name applied to several kinds of timber, the produce of trees from different parts of the tropics, and belonging to very different natural families. Usually the wood is extremely hard, dense and dark-coloured and sinks in water. Several species of Sideroxylon (Sapotaceae) yield iron-wood, Sideroxylon cinereum or Bojerianum being the bois de fer blanc of Africa and Mauritius, and the name is also given to species of Metrosideros (Myrtaceae) and Diospyros (Ebenaceae).

Purple Heart Chux

Alternate common names include chakte kok even though that name actually belongs more properly to an unrelated wood of similar appearance. The wood is dull pink to moderately bright red and fades severely with long exposure to UV. There is sometimes a purple area at the juncture between the heartwood and the sapwood. I assume, but cannot yet say for sure, that a UV blocking finish would prevent all or most of the fading. This wood has a fine to medium texture
